Race One:
:1: Daisy Creek. More a hunch than anything I can quantify. Caveat Emptor. All I can say is: Notebook. Notebook first-timers do very well. Dam, Note d’ Amour, had two winners from two starters. The Rice siblings. Also: :5: Assoulin; :4: Sombree
Race Two:
:1: My Donna Jean. Veteran mare has done well at the distance. Dropping; should be closing. Ed Barker trains. He does reasonably well in sprints. Fernando Jara rides. Also: :4: Coast of Sangria; :5: Matching Skies.
Race Three:
:6: Nejma. Dropping. Sharp workout. Junior Alvarado for Bruce Brown. Also: :2: Live Love Laugh; :4: Don’t Blame Her; :5: Susan Elaine
Race Four:
:9: Skye Saratoga. Outside post. Trainer Tom Albertrani does reasonably well: dirt to turf. Only turf effort, a winner at this distance at Belmont. The most capable, Javier Castellano. Also: :3: Magsamelia; :6: Underhill Drive; :7: Funky Monkey Fever
Race Five:
:3: Sheldon. The Class. Nuff Said. Also: :1: Powerful Instinct; :6: Belisarius; :4: Make A Decision.
Race Six:
:11: Slan Abhaile. Huge drop. Suspicious? Trainer Abby Adsit does well with claimers and third off a layoff. The switch to Eric Cancel. Also: :1: Pecorino; :4: Cost Affective; :7: Distant Thoughts
Race Seven:
:1: Irish Sweepstakes was frankly not my first choice, but with the scratches. Best rest. Mark Hennig, slow start; yet solid trainer. Filly should be near front. Junior Alvarado in irons. Also: :4: Equilateral; :3: Eta Carinae
Race Eight:
:7: Weekend Express. Solid turf record. Will easily get distance. Might wish to go longer. “El Dominicano,” Joel Rosario, must time his move, perfectly. Tim Hills trains. Also: :4: Takeover Target; :2: Face The Music; :6: Ocean Telegraph
Race Nine:
:10: Dacoma. This Danzig-bred first-time starting filly has very good turf pedigree. Trainer Wesley Ward does very well with turf starts and first-time starters. The most capable apprentice, Eric Cancel, is in the irons. Also: :11: Sister Sophia; :6: Natala; :1: Hillaryinthehouse
