What the heck is going on??? I know International Star has a quarter crack....but why scratch them all?
Edited to say: Not all are scratched. Reach For a Kitten, Luck of the Kitten, and Thank You Marylou are still running

And curiously, in the 10th race at BEL Chad Brown has an entry of two Kenneth Ramsey horses, and only scratched one of them, leaving one to run. Hmm...

Ramsey is upset because Brown wouldn't stack the deck against his non-ramsey horse, Slumber, in favor of Kitten

What did he want him to do? Not like he's a frontrunner or anything. She would have been favored, he is fifth choice, would have been 6th with her in.

I agree. Chad Brown doesn't need Ramsey.

I don't know, the Ramsey/Maker deal has always had the smell of a more "legitimate" Midwest/Jamie Ness, End Zone Athletics/Karl Broberg, Calabrese/Kirk Ziade, etc. kind of deal to me. Something just not totally on the up and up.

Don't know, don't care.
It's like Arnold Zetcher. He started out with Ron McAnally & had limited success. He moves over to Baffert & starts winning all these graded races, but lately he's had his last couple big horses (Fashion Plate & Firing Line) with Simon Callaghan. Has he left Baffert for good ? Is he waiting to give Bob some young horses off the farm ? Maybe yes, maybe not.
Entry box will answer that one.

Forget the TC campaign , good healing wishes for him
Upon further evaluation of sidelined Louisiana Derby (gr. II) winner International Star, veterinarians have diagnosed a hairline fracture in his left knee.

I think Nellanod means that Slumber, Chad Brown's other entrant in the Turf Classic, had not won a race in two years. Slumber did not seem to be a horse to be afraid of or one that would have compromised Stephanie's Kitten's chances had she run her best race.
Perhaps there had been some discussion between Ramsey and Brown about entering SK against males rather than fillies in the first place, and the entry of Slumber was somehow related.
