I remember this horse fondly from my early years as a handicapper...he was a turf champion and a helluva good looking horse.
Sky Classic, a four-time champion in the United States and Canada, died peacefully April 30 in his paddock at Josephine Abercrombie's Pin Oak Stud, according to farm manager Clifford Barry.
The 28-year-old stallion had stood at the farm since his retirement from racing in 1992 and had been pensioned from stud duty in January of this year.
