Do you:

A. play Smarty Jones at 2/5 in the Belmont.

B. play another horse even though this is a great possibility of losing that bet.

C. pass the race.

D. play Smarty Jones in the Exotics and try to get some type of value.

Buy a $2 ticket for posterity (I wish I had done so with Secretariat), and enjoy the race. (Of course if its part of a pik-3 or late double, I might single him if there's a long shot somewhere else.

C

I have a martial arts test that day anyway and won't even get to watch the race.

How about:

E. Do not wager. Watch the race and root on Smarty to win the Triple Crown

Is this some kind of rarity in horseracing to have a 2-5 shot? What's the big deal?Happens every day at every track.

But I want to root for this 2-5 (or lower) shot. I emotionally cannot bet on one but root for another.

You bet $10,000 to show and laugh at NYRA.

I'll single him in the pick 4 and won't play any combinations with more than 1 additional favorite.

Treat the race like any other with a legitimate 2-5 shot.

Sit out. Kick back. Watch and enjoy.

The Pic 4 is probably the only way to go. The Pic 4 that the Preakness closed out paid $1500 for $2. A 7-2, a 5-2, a 12-1 or so and Smarty. It did help that a 4-5 got beat in the opening leg.

CROSSBREED DAILY DOUBLE SET FOR
BELMONT STAKES DAY AT THE MEADOWLANDS

A special crossbreed daily double will be offered, pairing the
Belmont Stakes and the first race at the Meadowlands.
"With all the interest in whether or not Smarty Jones completes
the Triple Crown with a win in the Belmont Stakes, we're ... going to an earlier post time
- 7:05 instead of our usual 7:30 - and a unique daily double wager of
the Belmont Stakes and the first race at the Meadowlands."

OK, I'm counting on you guys to tell me how to toss the chalk from that race over at Belmont :):):)

Buy a $2 win ticket on every horse including SJ and keep the ticket if SJ wins, cash it if he loses.
