while i have always hated most drugs, i have loved the job that antibiotic's do to bacterial infections. today people have built up resistance to them because they have taken them for things that an antibiotic can't even help and some bodies have become immune to them.

the problem today is that there is a very small profit margin for drug manufactures to produce new forms of antibiotics and they have done a very poor job of keeping up with new forms of bacteria that the body needs help to fight.

Even more scary is that antibiotics are used in the raising of animals that will be eaten, especially poultry. Why anybody thinks this is good public policy is beyond me.

It is not that people have built up resistance, it is the bacteria that have become antibiotic resistant.
