Why is it that the horseracing industry in North America, can't provide the same quality data that, for example, Hong Kong provides? For example, take a look at the link below of past incident extracts for today's entries in Hong Kong.

Also, take a look at the results charts on the following link from the Hong Kong Jockey club. Notice that each chart has a link to the race replay, in 56kb or broadband. And more importantly, notice that when you watch the replay that there are actually people standing along the rail watching the race--I assume they bet the race too.

Also, take a look at the trackworks pages... which publish split times for the individual works.
And finally, don't miss the note at the bottom of the charts, i.e. [i]"Call our Hotline 1817 within the time specified by the Jockey Club to register if you've won more than HK$5 million." Which I think is about US$640,000.
