A couple of days after Saturday's tragedy that supposedly cost the life to approximately 700 migrants, another shipwreck was reported early this morning about a boat with 150 people on board. Both vessels departed from Libya, full of migrants coming from Africa and Mid East, trying to enter to Europe from the coast of Italy..

The Italian coast guard declared that it cannot send any rescuers to the second incident and asked from passing ships to provide any possible help.

The most critical problem Europe is facing today, is the migration from third world countries that is threading to completely change the culture and the civilization of the continent within the next few years...

My long term crystal ball is telling me that large numbers of Europeans are eventually going to leave Europe.

Going to Africa??

Well, there are too many places left on the globe that aren't doomed either economically due to socialist promises that can't be kept or due to failed experiments in multi-culturalism, but Australia if fairly fertile grounds for Europeans and especially US citizens because they speak English.

So, your "long term crystal ball" is telling you that Europeans are going to flee to Australia?

Interesting..

I understand that passengers were actually locked below decks. The Libyan ports should be blockaded and traffickers shot on sight. Whatever it takes.

It is not as simple as this. We are talking about a massive migration of hundreds of thousand per year and not about a localized movement...

It's a start. And 90% is coming from perhaps a dozen ports. Blockade them.

I wonder what changed ? What could have changed in Libya? Who could be responsible? Who could have destabilized the country?

It's such a mystery........

Of course this is one of the most important things to be done as the first step. Matteo Renzi said exactly this in his press conference today.. Still, this does not solve the problem, which has to do with the living conditions in the Mid Eastern and Sub-Saharan countries which are so bad that people are willing to risk their lives in order to escape...

The multiple wars that have been going for years, have created unsupportable living conditions for the people of Mid Eastern and Sub-Saharan countries..

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on Sunday called for a concerted international effort to block people-traffickers after the reported deaths of up to 700 migrants in the latest sinking in the Mediterranean.

"We are asking not to be left alone," Renzi told reporters after an impromptu cabinet meeting, adding that he wanted an emergency meeting of European Union leaders to be held this week to discuss the mounting migrant crisis.

Renzi underlined that search and rescue missions alone were not sufficient to save lives. He said the problem could only be solved by preventing the criminal activity of people trafficking and stopping migrant boats from leaving Libya.

Renzi said it was still not possible to estimate what the total number of deaths in the latest tragedy would be. He said he could only confirm that 24 dead bodies had been found and 28 people rescued

There are only two navies in the world with the capabilities and only one who would benefit. Expect to see Russian vessels off the Libyan coast.

Then expect to see Euro sanctions against Russia go bye-bye. ;)

There are also other navies who can do it.. France, UK, Greece and Italy, have enough naval force for the task..

Together, maybe. But when was the last time these countries were in agreement?

Or...ever?

BTW, I think Greece is gonna jump ship...With Russia's help.

The first three has been in agreement for ever! I also do not think that the Royal or French Navy alone will have any problem.. Greece also has a very strong navy (given the size of the county of course) and can definitely assist .. In this case is not a matter of force but of a political decision.. Of course having the help of the Sixth Fleet, will certainly guarantee the success of the operation!

No way... Greece currently is and will remain part of the European Community, the Euro and the NATO.. Everything else are just a political games and nothing else..
