Don't see his name in the form much anymore, but he's the damsire of the 12 in the 6th at Santa Anita Friday afternoon. If Bid went to the breeding shed in 1982, this old gal has to be from one of his very last crops.

Every so often I'll see a something like a Snow Chief that'll make me think the same thing.

Why is it that every time someone mentions Spectacular Bid all I can think of is how many times he kicked Flying Paster's butt with my money on the Paster. I was 18 and with a max bet of $25, no way was I taking 2-5 on the bid and I wasn't playing exactas yet. Of course then as now I can't bear to pass a race.

One of my favorites was seeing Gate Dancer's damsire in 1984 and 1985- Bull Lea.

BTW, this horse finished 2nd. Haven't watched the replay nor ever seen the horse, but I would guess grandpa would be proud of the good first time start effort.
