Rand Paul is running both for the presidency and his senate seat at the same time in 2016.
he has some type of a chance to be the republican nominee. so far he is leading in the polls in the first 3 primary states, Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
the democrats had a pretty decent senate candidate that lost to the republican leader Mitch McConnell last time. at one point she had the lead and his machine wound up getting the job done for him.
is it possible that he could be elected the next president and lose his senate seat at the same time?
