The proposed casino to be located half way between Rochester and Syracuse,NY which could adversely affect business at Finger Lakes now has a new and powerful opponent. The Oneida Nation, owners of the Turning Stone Casino in nearby Verona, NY

Said article "not available". But Verona is a hundred miles away from Finger Lakes at least. If they put one in between them it won't be good for either. That's the problem with all the "casino expansion". I hope Turning Stone is fighting this....Its hands down the best one in NY. They comp rooms and food like no other and while the girl plays slots I sneak over to Vernon Downs for horses...they have slots there too but both seem to be doing well. Of course, Turning Stone has table games too.

What a joke for a location. The sad part is as soon as Tyre was announced as the winner the gov said that Tyre was never intended as the desired location for the southern tier of the finger lakes region.
