From the website:

Pace Advantage is pleased to announce that longtime forum member and contributor Tom will be taking over chief moderator duties in the Off-Topic forum. Tom's level-headed approach to issues and mild-mannered disposition make him an ideal choice to oversee a forum that frequently tackles hot-button issues of the day and spirited political discussion. Congratulations Tom, and welcome to the PA family!

OT will never be the same!

A moderator should project confidence and maturity. Tom, do you have a more recent high school photo?

No it isn't.
Tom has already banned 7 posters this morning for criticizing Harry Reid.

You guys are have chuckles on the chimps dime, viewpoints have nothing to do with a guys ability to be fair. I would suggest Tom included and the vast majority here, even those on the left would get a 90+ score in being fair in the task of moderator and the threads of late.

I think the advantage of Tom as moderator is that you always know where he stands on any issue. :D

Wait, what? Doesn't this have to go to the White House for approval? Methinks it will certianly be vetoed by the current resident.

Tom's integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail are beyond reproach. I'm certain he will bring these qualities to his new position.

Frankly, I hope his first act is to issue you a strong reprimand for your excessive use of emoticons.
