I can just hear them breaking in to a chorus of
"These are a few of my favorite things"

States with laws permitting gun licenses as valid voter I/D,
yet disallow student identification cards. Blatant discrimination.

We're going to hear a lot more from this lady between now and Nov 2016.
Whether you want to, or not. Naturally, she's a con centerfold again.

Something tells me she hasn't bankrolled this recent return
into the limelight herself. Catch my drift?

Mere bagatelle for the brothers Koch...... ;)

Tell me what is required to get a student ID

Then tell me what is required for a gun license

Even your biased brain should be able to see the difference.

Students are just lazy or stupid. If they really wanted to vote they'd register to do so under current rules.

Firearm permits are government issued documents. Student IDs are not.

How many students at major universities are from out of state? Student ID does not prove residency.

That is just common sense. This is complete insanity:

They also say the state does not allow voters to present out-of-state ID cards, which are widely held by college students living in Tennessee, therefore discriminating against out-of-state students.

So, if I can prove that I don't live in a state, it is discrimination to not allow me to vote in that state's elections? How did these people get into college?

They are not a valid form of ID according to the IRS.
Driver's license, state issued ID cards, passport, military ID - period.

Step outside those boundaries, you are only doing it to suit yourselves.
That is discrimination.

Since when does the IRS have any jurisdiction over state elections?

Who cares what the IRS says is or is not a valid document for ID.

The individual states determine those IDs not the IRS.

discrimination: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

Every resident of that state is being subjected to the same voting requirements. How is that discrimination?

And the claim that it is discrimination to not allow a resident of one state to vote in a different state is sheer insanity.

Why because you say so? Student IDs are not proof of residency. If you have to prove residency to obtain a firearm permit it is defacto proof of residency. Denying a non-resident or someone who fails to prove residency a right reserved for residents is not discrimination.

Clocker
03-22-2015, 12:14 PM
Why because you say so?

Exactly. Liberals define discrimination as unequal outcomes. The fact that college students can't figure out how to get proper ID or how to vote absentee in their home state isn't their fault. Therefore it must be discrimination by the big bad conservatives.

You know if these... Fools spent as much time and effort as they do whining about voter ID's... to actually help there fellow fools whom they feel are confused by the process or being befuddled by the need. All those that wish to vote could flash that ID and do so.. all that still would not, could.. cause they'd have the required card.

These 'students' often have left wing idiots (like some of the cartoon loving numbskulls here on PA) scribble letters of recommendation for them at college admissions offices nationwide.

What happened to minority voter participation rates in the 2012 presidential election in states that had instituted new voter ID laws? Don't patronize minorities. They're more than capable of compiling with simple voter ID rules. Why insult them and say (imply) otherwise? We disagree most of the time, but I'm surprised you would take such an attitude toward minorities.

Student ID = younger person, going to parties and most likely a net-negative tax payer.
Firearms Permit = a state resident, law-abiding citizen, contributing to public safety.

I don't see a problem.

The problem is that people go off on a tangent so easily.

For some reason, they brought race into the thread.
Wasn't me - I never mentioned it.

It's the gun licenses as valid I/D that I object too.
If you allow those, but not student I/D, that is discrimination, imo.
Race is not the issue here.

Some people can't handle the word discrimination without thinking race.
