I take the HORSES IN GREEN .. as the best ... Outlined in green
next .. then the yellow and finally the Red. I need a lot more
work on this particular read out.

Ya don't say!
I always ran T-Mation on an old B&W laptop, so I never saw the colors.

It seems that the Horse in Red is the Early horse. Evidently
the program doesnt like an Early horse in Red. Other times the
early horse will be in Green or Yellow.
I dont have enough examples yet .. Have you had a chance
to dig into all of your old notes ? :)

I have the old notes, but nothing in there about color coding.

Whats the difference between median energy and early energy??
To save time, I know what early energy is.

isn't median the sum of the first two fractions divided by the sum of all three fractions??

To quote Ed McMahon .. you are correct Sir ! Sum of the first
two fractions divided by the total of all 3 fractions.

Sure would like to see them sometime. Since we learned
T Mation completely on our own .. with no manual and no
seminars. It works fine - but in my heart .. I know there is
more. We basically took ENERGY .. and applied it to T mation.

Doc Sartin started using Median Energy instead of the
" percent Early " that was used for quite a while. It would
seem that anything over around 69. 50 .. is a legit early horse.
I was going to try to equate the Median number with the
per cent early number...but time ran out on that project ! There
was a red hot favorite the other day .... sprint race. Showed over
70 Median Energy.
The horse could not win ..but he ran second. It is amazing how
often we can toss out a hoss like that for the win.

I apologize for being so late with the notes post. I will try to get some down tonight after West Wing.
I do have a couple of tapes from a Baltimore seminar-a how to session by Glenn Connoley-I will make you a copy if you likem and I will also copy my seminar manual of races to go with it.

You are going to be very happy.....I found not only a Thoromation Manual in my old stuff, but a Choas?Entropy Manual as well. Not seminar manuals, actual software manuals.
More tonight when I get home.

I am now officially out of the hospital .. they gave me a few short
gallops....some treadmill..... swimming....and great rubdowns..I
should be ready for anything Thoromation. :) Entropy is really
starting to nail the contenders ... now that I at least .. kind
of know... what I am doing with that screen !

So what are the contender guidelines nowadays?
I have them as:
>Best of last three (four if there is an excuse race), similar distance and surface
>Best means best speed rating and no more than 7.5 lengths back
>Pass over off tracks unless today's is off
>Only use a sprint race in a route if there are no good routes to use

Is there anything about days away, or jsut use whatever line is in top three or four?
I assume nothing about class still?
Using the TM files, your pacelines are equalized from the TM variant?

Regards TM and equalizing the Total Energy.... Howard's original
rule was to Only use the Alternate Adjustment..when the spread
between the Total Energies was 2.0 or more.
We found that simply using the Alt Adjust for most races is just
fine. There is so much inside the program...Algorithms...a bit of
Jimmy a little Howard .. a pinch of Barnum...some Brohamer and
so forth. LOL
We never used the Equa Just. Sometimes if the corrections are
really outrageous ( Using the Alt. Adjust ) we check on the
Automatic Adjustment.. to see how far off the readouts are..from
the Alt Adjust read outs. If they are way off....we know there is
a problem lurking.
As for days away and any other " handicapping" I simply dont
do it. It all equals out in the long run.
Here is theee most important thing in my mind...

It is Keeping a MODEL. I do Percent Early. It is the
most powerful tool that I have found. I run the " Pre play "
screens and take note of the horses who are best Early and
best late. Then I look at T Mation. If T mation matches up with
the Early Screen...I presume the race will run Early or Presser.
If it matches with the Late Screen .. I look at Sustained.

That is all I can do for this post :) .. It takes a lot of lot of work..
Not easy for one person.

We use Aodds to select the Pace Lines. Pretty much always
go along with the lines picked by the computer. Except with
sprinters going long on turf ... and a few other oddballs.
I dont think I could ever go back to picking lines myself. It is
simply too much work for my brain. And I usually agree with
Aodds ( and Jimmy of course ) Much more later when I really
recover from surgery.

I got my old "486" B&W screen notebook ans sure enough, all my old programs are still working there. A Odds, B Odds, EXDC, KGEN,
etc. Ran a bunch of races last night, just familiarizing myself with the screens again. Deja vous all over again.
