“Beware the ides of March!” Oh, that’s tomorrow.

Race One:

“My kingdom for a horse…” A plodder, even. My choice: :8: Born in Brooklyn. No, actually Syracuse, NY. Anyway… This 4-year-old A.P. Indy-bred gelding might, on his best, provide some value. The wet-track breeding is there, e.g., A.P. Indy. The gelding did win a route race on the turf. Dropping to a level where’s he’s dangerous. Manny Franco can get the job done. Trainer Jim Acquilano is good with horses making their second start with a trainer. Also, Aquilano's good with claiming races. Exeunt.

Others: :7: Grand Strand; :2: Chrisandlorisposse; and :5: Ausable River.

Race Two:

:6: Calling Me Home gets another chance. Finished fourth in slop in her last over two months ago. Did catch some action in only start. Should improve off that effort. At least this Dehere-bred filly has a race under her belt. Sharp workout about a week ago. Junior Alvarado retains the call for trainer Abigail Adsit. Trainer Adsit is very good with horses coming off a layoff.

Others: :7: English Garden; :1: Mott N Hester; :3: Speightsfire.

Race Three:

:8: Money Machine has faced better. Drops into a spot where he might just prevail. The 5-year-old gelding has a solid wet-track pedigree. Conditions should suit. Should benefit from starting on the outside. Apprentice Angel Cruz in the irons for trainer David Jacobson. Trainer Jacobson has excellent stats with horses dropping two levels.

Others: :9: Xixixi; :5: Grandpa Len; :3: Van Fraassen

Race Four:

:4: Isabelle has won three straight and five or her last six. Wet-track breeding is excellent: Successful Appeal (Valid Appeal). Junior Alvarado for the Hall of Famer, Bill Mott. Mott is very good with horses entered in a non-graded stakes, third off a layoff and winner of last.

Others: :2: Mandooha; :5: Aireofdistinction; :1: Expression.

Race Five:

:10: Wild Ham is my pick here. He fits in this company, Has taken action at the windows in recent starts. I like Wildcat Heir- (Forest Wildcat) bred horses on an off track. The gelding has hit the tote in two of three lifetime tries; all three have come at Aqueduct. Kendrick Carmouche for trainer Jim Ryerson.

Others: :8: Afleet’s Edge; :1: Hundred Percent; :4: Our Posse

Race Six:

:6: Global Positioning has some solid wet-track confirmation in Malibu Moon (A.P. Indy). The horse has already won in his only try on a wet surface. One for one at Aqueduct. Turn back should help. Top jockey-trainer combo: Jose Ortiz and Mike Hushion. Trainer Hushion is 25% with sprints. This colt could find his way to the winner’s circle.

Others: :3: All Is Number; :5: Pierce’s Prize; :2: Drama King

Race Seven:

:9: Lane Allen is taking a sharp class drop. Draws outside. Decent wet-track pedigree. Angel Arroyo for trainer Chris Englehart. Englehart’s good with horses with second start off a layoff and down two classes.

Others: :1: Eight Cents; :2: Mineral Water; :8: Keltic Fighter (hunch play).

Race Eight:

:7: Sea Raven is making his third start off a layoff for trainer Leah Gyarmati. Second in his last in this company. Wet-track breeding: Mineshaft (A.P. Indy). The apprentice, “Izzy” Rodriguez is in the irons. Stumbled at start in last. Clean trip.

Others: :10: Adams Note; :9: Huge Asset; :5: Sunnysider

Race Nine:

:7: Point Hope drops into a potential winning situation. The Linda Rice trainee has faced much better; yet without too much success. However, this may be the level that produces a win. Apprentice Angel Cruz in the irons. Trainer Rice is good with sprint to route and beaten favorite horses.

Others: :8: Beatle Boots; :10: Retire Fifty Five; :6: Onthecurve.

Race Ten:

:2: Artemus Paperboy loves the wet going. Three wins in four tries on a wet track. Also, three wins in four tries at Aqueduct. Had won four straight before finishing fifth a couple weeks ago. May just be dropping into a winning situation. An extra here are the services of Irad Ortiz, Jr. and trainer Gustavo Rodriguez. The lightly-raced ridgling has faced better with a good deal of success.

Others: :10: Duke of the City; :4: Solly’s Mischief; :6: Love to Run.

Bomb of the Day > Race 5: :3: Colonel Jessup

If he wins, a lot of people won't be able to handle this truth. Good luck!
