The officer turns out to be a hero!
Apologies for the bait and switch, but this reminded me not to stereotype, in spite of the increased militarization. It also made me see how much of a difference it makes when someone is treated as a human being and not merely as a "subject" (as long as circumstances make it clear that the person is not a threat to the police or public)
I wrote a much longer post with lot of good words about this CHP officer's work in this area (suicide prevention), but clicked the X on top by mistake.. :bang:
