Massive tax breaks Kansas couldn’t afford have led to debt downgrades, weak growth, and state finances in shambles. Making matters worse, confronted with weak statewide job growth and a deepening budget shortfall, a judicial panel recently ruled (http://www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-columns-blogs/yael-t-abouhalkah/article5332056.html) that Kansas has been “inadequately funding K-12 education.” Brownback, not surprisingly, can’t afford the fix.

fiscal responsibility stinks sometimes, actually most of the time.

I was thinking that if he embraced the intenet and had parents teach their kids at home it would take a chunk out of expenditures and would force parents to be responsible. They might learn something along the way.

Easy and it works. Neighbors do it. The last daughter just maxed an entrance exam at Marquette. First benney, $2k for each A and $1.2K for each B comes off her loans plus a bunch of her GE coarses are free ride.

It all boils down to parents and students desire.

Gonna be interesting to see what shakes.
