BLACKED OUT

Here is the list of racetracks whose signal is not available in Nevada race books after an extension to negotiate a new contract between Monarch Content Management and the Nevada Pari-Mutuel Association expired Tuesday:

Golden Gate Fields

Gulfstream Park

Laurel

Meadowlands (harness)

Santa Anita

Tampa Bay Downs

Turf Paradise

Sounds familiar. Same recurring theme. Monarch continues to negotiate in good faith with receiving facilities but no deal can be reached. Receiving facility then elects to have signal pulled. There is something more do this. The public never knows why a deal cannot be reached. At this rate Stronach will not have to give his signal to no one. As a bettor part of the Mid-Atlantic Coop, I learned to live with this and it is very frustrating not be able to bet track of choice. Definitly not good for racing.

I saw a tweet yesterday from a journalist with the LV Journal Review
that a deal had been agreed to yesterday, but it might take a few days
to come into effect. Will update later.

The deal is only with NYRA., a seperate issue.

Looks like progress is being made, but they're not at 100% yet.
I know that FG, OP, DED, and PEN were up the past 2 days.
Other tracks are on board now, and NPMA looks like resolving
all of this by next week. SA, GP, TUP, GGF, TAM, MED, LRL back today.
As mentioned above, NYRA is good to go - weather permitting.

Good news for Nevada horseplayers: Pari-Mutuel Association and Monarch agree to temporary halt in bklackout. Signal back up for Santa Anita.

Signal will also be up for Gulfstream, Golden Gate, Turf Paradise, Tampa Bay and Meadowlands while the two sides try to settle differences.
