Picks for Belmont Saturday:
R1 - #5 Rollofthunder-Makes second start off the claim for good barn. Battled with odds-on fav last time on the inside on a brisk pace. Gets Velazquez today, and he should be getting first run outside the frontrunner today.
R2 - #2 Boris Jordan-Only dirt sprint try was good enough to put him in the thick of it against this bunch. 4/1 or better is what I’m looking for.
R3 - #4 Navaeh-Has done nothing wrong so far. Fired first time out, so layoff not that much of a concern. Price should be decent.
R4 - #11 Forcible-Made a wide closing move when they were moving late in his debut. Better trip today puts him in the winner circle.
R5 - #2 Bounding Charm-Has shown ability in only two starts this year. Has great tactical early speed, turf is only question mark. 4/1 means a bet for me here.
R6 - #2 Cherokee Rap-Ran a strong race in only trouble free race two back. Gets a positive rider switch today, his best effort can upset the ml favorite.
R7 - #8 Commission-Showed ability in first start in the US. Gets Santos today, 7/2 or better and I’ll play him.
R8 – Pass-will watch this race, can’t see past the two ML favorites.
R9 - #6 Gata Veloz-Barn has good numbers in key categories. Gets Santos today. 6/1 or better means a bet here for me.
