They were offered $40M in tax incentives to move to Atlanta. Other cities begging to be fleeced were Charlotte, N.C., Raleigh, N.C., and Dallas. When Mercedes-Benz makes it's next move to Mexico, be sure to let us know.

High taxes are bad for business.
Yet you keep denying.......welcome to the real world.
With the tax and regulation structure in this country.....we do not deserve the jobs. Fact of life.

And they will make that back and profit by the millions.

Btw, I read it was 23 million.

It's not as plain as you state it either. They don't write checks for 40 mil. Etc. they provide tax breaks or as some places call them "exclusions" so they are not required to come up with money. They just don't collect certain taxes for several years. This means there is an immediate economic impact. Money that wasn't there before, is immediately infused to the local economy. A long term win with immediate benefits to the citizenry

Tax incentives means they don't collect taxes that they weren't collecting anyway. And in a couple of years they start collecting taxes that they wouldn't have been collecting otherwise.

And in those up-front years they are collecting increased sales taxes, local taxes from new residents, etc.
