This was posted on a Facebook page, and there's more snow on the way. Someone I know in Boston described it as the winter from hell.

I know we have some Boston guys, here. Hope all is well.

I lived in Montreal in the 1970's for four years.
It could be close to or as bad as what Boston got this month.
But Montreal knew how to clear the streets of snow pronto.
I'd be surprised if Boston is as well equipped with the number of plows that Montreal always had.

Welcome to Lake Tahoe.

Had a friend who lived at around 8,000 feet on the way to Tahoe. One winter we was invited for dinner. There walkway looked like that except the cavern was around 12'-13'. Their industrial strength snow blower had this 15' attachment that blow the snow up and out over the top. Amazing.

I'll never complain about the Chicago winters ever again.

It appears to be a weather pattern that keeps repeating.

I don't remember any major Northeast city getting hit with that many 12-18" storms in a single year.

I feel bad for them, they're buried up there . Some may relocate south after this winter .

I live 20 miles north of Boston and it's coming down. Not quite the blizzard here (yet) they predicted. I went skiing yesterday so missed the contest and I think it is cancelled today. Nice day to do nothing which I am very good at.

I know guys in a band who are scheduled to play the Hard Rock in Boston next Friday. Have events like this been canceled because of the snow?

Yes. Somewhat along the lines of Global Warming protests cancelled because of the cold weather, we have Disney on Ice's "Frozen" cancelled today in Boston.

I read that global warming is causing all of this.

Higher ocean temperatures are causing more evaporation and humidity in the air. The North Pole is a heat island so the cold air from Siberia is causing the jet stream further south. Therefore the extreme record breaking cold and snowfall is all because of global warming.

I just scratch my head wondering if they expected people to believe this stuff

Wait until next winter. If we get a milder winter for a change, that will be ironclad proof of global warming, and anyone insinuating that the USA is only 2% of the area of the Earth will be shouted down as deniers. :D

These Alarmists have no idea how their statements today will make them look ridiculous tomorrow. Oh well, good for a laugh I guess ...
