He was 18-1 a few minutes to post when I looked at your post and then checked his odds. If you check the odds page, you'll the odds for :13: in the 5th are marked in a brownish color. The announcer mentioned his odds dropping to 8-1 and then 5-1 as the horses were being loaded. He went off at 6-1 (7.0 on the tote reflects the wager plus profit in HK).

I'm not sure how large the timeframe is before the green and brown colors reset when a horses' odds drop from the previous level, but I believe it's 5 or 10 min. In theory, you could have a "Red Lamp" horse 10 minutes to post, but they most often show up right at the post.

Unlike North America, a huge drop in the odds is not often an indicator of a winning horse - they win about 20 or 25% of the time.

The :13: ran pretty well, holding off my :11: by a long nose for 4th.
