The new policy comes into play in Maryland.
It seems like a good thing.
Scott Lake received 4 months(another hot test will really hurt him).
Hector Garcia was dealt 13 months......careful Scott,you're On-deck for a year or more.

Interesting that all these horses won. I'd love to see bettors file class action suits against the tracks and the trainers. Too bad we don't know a lawyer who would work for free/commission on this.

Which horses do they test? Also one finished second.

So if the bettors start filing class action suits the tracks will withhold all payouts until the drug tests results are in.

If a person in our society is a victim of fraud and they know who is responsible for the fraud, usually you can go thru the legal system and get some justice. Not sure why the "justice system" makes racing exempt from real life laws, there must be a reason, just not sure what it is.

They used to test every winner and every 2nd place horse, any 3rd place horse in a triple race , any off the board favorite, not so much the 5-2 choice but certainly the 6-5 types, and any " specials" that the Stewards ordered tested after viewing the race.

I'm shocked at this.:D

And don't get me wrong, mistakes absolutely do happen. They truly do.

But... if it walks like a duck and it quacks ... ah, you know the rest.

Not likely....he appealed, got a stay and is racing until the case comes up in March.
I can see this dragging out and then accepting a reduced sentence sometime in 2016. :bang:

Beacause it is considered a game of chance!

So is the stock market, or Roulette in Vegas, but even though its a game of chance, you could get arrested and charged with a real life crime if you break the rules or cheat in some way.

Crossing the street is a game of chance these days!
