It's true. The NFL is a non-profit trade association. The NFL is wholly funded by 32 teams, who also approve its yearly budget including commissioner salary. All the profit goes to the 32 teams.

It sure seems like a business for profit to me.

The ticket prices this year are high because a few large holders/sellers are keeping them squeezing the short sellers....

The NFL association is tax exempt. The 32 teams, where all the profits reside, are not.

Now I am curious if each team is also a 'non-profit' and whether extra money at the end of the year just gets funneled to working owners as bonuses.

Each team is for profit and the government would love to have teams funnel out extra money to working owners. It would mean more taxes get paid.

NFL assoc pays Goodell almost a million a week?Looking at where the NFL was financially when he took office and where it is now, he is worth every penny. The Bills sold for 1.4 billion. 5 years ago the price would been about 500 million, maybe lower.

You better be careful - that is not the approved message!

The purpose of the NFL is to sell beer, trucks, cars, credit cards, tech gadgets, phones, soda, snacks, and airplane tickets,... promote armed-forces and other state-sponsored propaganda... support a gambling enterprise, and provide a general distraction from our economy.

The NFL is an ad.
