What a surprise!

Obviously billionaires like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Mark Zuckerberg are part of the 1%. But who else is? According to Credit Suisse, another 47m adults - everyone with wealth of $798,000 (£530,000) or more.

According to some on here, all it takes is hard work, and a bit of luck.
Then, once you have made it, it's completely up to you as to how much
of your hard earned wealth you might decide to donate to worthy causes.

Taxation is a dirty word - they'll make it the least painful experience
possible in that regard. No worries. You'll still be rich when taxes are paid.

Naturally, being a savvy individual in the first place, finding shelters
abroad for your wealth won't be too hard.

After all, assuming you're the "self-made person" that is idolized,
you have earned the right.

and the band played on.......

You have no idea what you are talking about.
Again.

There is a difference between taxes and robbery.
FAIR taxes is not bad.
PUNITIVE taxes is.

And again, you have NO IDEA what expenses come with the 800,00 or so in earnings. Like a drunk seeing a can of beer, your thought processes, stop there.

The world doesn't need more rich people; it needs fewer poor people. Being financially "comfortable" has little to do with joining the "elite" 1%.

It has been my lot in life to associate closely with some of the "millionaires" out there...and believe me; they are as troubled as the rest of us.

I don't agree with their parameters for wealth in the article.
The top 1%, in my mind, are those with net worth high in
the millions, if not billions.

C'mon.....a net worth of $800K in any major city throughout
the world would barely put you in the middle class.
Unrealistic.

Yet, in terms of world poverty, I see where they're coming from.

Showed this to to Mary's grand daughter. She turned and said, "you are still a bastard". :D

then she smiled and hugged me and said, "but I love you anyway".

That last part put me over the top.... :D
