I am curious if you watched it and what you found most interesting.

The joke about winning the two elections was really funny. the rest of it was the same kind of fluff you always hear.

This might come as a shock but all my conservative friends hated it and my liberal friends liked it.

I watch all State of the Union speeches regardless of which party holds the office. Too boo the office is a lack of respect.

Pres has a lot of balls after that election debacle, which should move him up except with the haters who are gonna hate no matter what. Of course, the zinger that shut the Repugs up was the highlight.

I watched it, nodded off and a few minutes latter was in a dream state in the summer of July 1990 in Moscow, USSR. Mikhail Gorbachev was sitting in the VP seat behind President Obama who was speaking to a gathering of delegates of the Communist Party.

I awoke a few minutes later with a feeling the dream having been so real.

I don't watch it any more. It has been pretty much the same speech every year. I just wait for the liberal media to point out the really egregious lies and delusions. They are turning into such haters.

I cannot stand it because of the stupid on que applause, that has to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

It had nothing to do with the State of the Union.
It was an ass-clown campaign speech.
The Sgt at Arms should have arrested that illegal.

When Bibi gets, THAT is when serious business will be discussed.
You don't try to talk serious with an ass-clown at the mic.

But boy, what a POS that scumbag is.

Rowan and Martin had more class and decorum on Laugh In.

I read the text of it the next morning. That allowed me to be more alert in evaluating it, and it took much less time than watching it, mainly as a result of not having to sit through the repeated applause pauses.

Yes I watched the entire state of the president and democratic party's agenda speech. From that speech it appears that the state of the president and democratic party's agenda are very strong these days and from what I heard the king say, the republicans and conservatives in this country are just going to have to eat crow because he is still in power for two more years and they can't do a thing about that. And by golly the full remainder of his ultra left wing policies are going to be passed before he leaves office with or without the backing of congress or the people of the US approval.

Unfortunately, I saw the beginning but dozed off shortly thereafter, so I can't answer "yes" or "no".

Maybe there ought to be a third choice: Started to, but fell asleep.

I only watch these things right after a presidential election or when something is very wrong like after 9/11. The discourtesy shown the president by the political parties upsets me. Politics is not an excuse for bad manners in my book no matter who the president is.

I stop watching exactly when the speech is over. I don't need any talking heads explaining what I just heard be they from the so called "right" or the so called "left".

I note the use of the plural, "parties".

The president's foreign policy is so inept and dangerous that members of his own party are calling him out on it. You consider that "bad manners"? I consider it honesty, something so rare in Washington, you probably didn't recognize it.

Bobby, maybe he would have gotten respect if he had actually delivered a "state of the union" report and not a campaign speech. He set the bar.

I thought he got far more than he deserved, but then I chalk that up to mindless democrats in the audience. You know, Pelosi the Wack Job.....

I never watch anything on TV that will be thoroughly covered by the media, unless I feel there is some advantage to knowing right now as opposed to tomorrow morning.

Tom Brady can fix that!

Not sure if 100% related to the topic here. But... am wondering for those that do follow national politics to some extent and since he's been involved with gambling in a major way...the man I am referring to is Donald Trump.

My question here is: Is there anyone that would be considered his counterpart in the news?

Do you mean is there anyone as egotistical and delusional as Trump? Obama is the first one that comes to mind. There are lots of other people on both sides of the aisle that might be in the same league, but usually aren't as obvious about it.

Has Trump ever been elected to an office? I was trying to think of someone that attempts to influence outside political office.

I was trying to think of someone that attempts to influence outside political office.

I'm sure there are many, all of them more effective and much more circumspect.

Trump just likes seeing his name/face in the news - counterpart is Sara Palin and that DNC chair from FL.

The 'gambling influence' I am worried about is Adelson. He has spent hundreds of millions to abolish/restrict online gambling. He owns a big chunk of Sands Corp and throws lots of money in politics - US and Israel. Threw a lot to China to get his Macau operation going, which has been the cash cow of the business. Bankrolls a big lobbying group that advertises online gambling as turning kids into gambling addicts using their parents/stolen credit cards and can not 'guarantee' age, drunkenness, who is wagering...

He most likely is worried most about 'competition' to his land based casinos, but could see him also trying to stop parimutual and fantasy sports. He has been a thorn in the side of online poker.

Lindsey Graham (Republican -SouthCarolina) Chairs a committee this is discussing ending ALL forms of online gambling including horse racing. I read this bank in November 2014. They don't expect it to get off the ground, but the very fact it's being discussed is troubling. Last Week John McCain was clear in is belief that sports betting shoud not extend to the internet.
My thought about Trump... Here's a man that has made an untold fortune in real estate and several gambling ventures. Yet he has declared bankruptcy. Where does he become some expert on finance...No one mentions his failures... He's no hero.. here but can buy air time after bankruptcy....LOL

Now, now. Show a little compassion. You may end up old, irrelevant and senile yourself someday.
