Beer does stay fresher in a can than in a bottle. Not too much on Bud these days, like these in the can, so to speak:

I remember way back when my father would drink beer (maybe I did too, when did they change) with these dangerous pull off tabs:

We saved all those tabs and made a chain.
A very long chain.
Schlitz only.
A chain way too long....... :p

I haven't had beer from a can in at least a decade. Buy local and drink it before it can go bad. Beer isn't wine.

There's beer out there that can last 5-7 years with no problem. Like anything, you get what you pay for.

http://tinyurl.com/mdd8kj7I'll never forget that episode of "Emergency!" back in the 70s where the guy would drop his tab INTO his beer before drinking it...guess he didn't want to be a litterbug...you can guess from there why the paramedics eventually had to be called...

PA, we USED to do that all the time, until one of the guys had that happen - he was lucky a paramedic was in the bar and got it out.

So we decided to string them all together int a chain from then on.

What's your favorite beer memory?
Do still have a memory?

I thought the golden years were when beer was 75 cent a bottle.
I could go out with a $20 bill and the next morning, count the quarters in my pocket and see how many I drank! :p

I bought my first quart of Schaefer for $.35.... early 60's

When we were underage, we would drive over to Staten Island from Jersey, so that we could get served....$.10 a glass !

On Sundays on the Island, you couldn't buy packaged beer, so they would fill up the beer-to-go in paper quarts....foamy as hell tho... :D

When I started out, I could buy a beer, a pack of smokes, a gallon of gas, and play the juke box and bowl a game on the machine.....for $1.00.

btw, Golden years has a new meaning in 2015~!
