What the hell is going on with these guys? I'm watching tv this AM and there is a commercial for some sitcom when it shows a woman in her car behind the wheel. She has been pulled over and she has a python around her neck. The officer asks her a question (I'm only 1/2 paying attention) and she blurts out to the effect " a got this F---ING SNAKE WRAPPED AROUND MY NECK. How are they getting away with this language on daytime commercial TV?

The opening show "Benched" had a woman in the courtroom blurt out M---er F---er. This was at 10:00 PM Where is the FCC?

I could be wrong but I don't think the FCC governs that type of behavior on cable.

The FCC doesn't regulate the content of cable or satellite shows. They only regulate broadcasts over the public airwaves.

Decency is left to the discretion of the cable networks.

Runs unedited shows frequently after midnight...Safe Harbor Law, maybe?

Just think, twenty years ago NYPD Blue was on the cutting edge of broadcasting. Now they'd run it on a Saturday morning during cartoons..:D

It's being shown on the networks too. I have never watched a reality show, but the promos for them are crappy enough to make me gag. I hate to think how bad the actual shows must be, if the promos are showing the good parts.

I just filed a complaint with the FCC and cable was a choice for broadcast method. I also read where profanity is prohibited between 6:30 am and 10:00 pm.

I would think that if cable were excluded there would have been a note to that effect prior to filling out the form which took 15 minutes.

Then again we are dealing with the Gubmint.

For clarification I have been known to utter a few choice words now and then:rolleyes: so this isn't about me, I just think little kids don't need to here that stuff. They will hear it soon enough in 1st grade!

From the FCC:

Do the FCC's rules apply to cable and satellite programming? In the past, the FCC has enforced the indecency and profanity prohibitions only against conventional broadcast services, not against subscription programming services such as cable and satellite. However, the prohibition against obscene programming applies to subscription programming services at all times.

So you can be indecent or profane on cable, but not obscene.

I heard the "F" word at least 5 times during the football games this weekend though the onfield mics. The censor was late on each ocassion.

I commend you for doing so, I think your right in the way you feel but we may have gone too far down that rabbit hole catering to the heathen mindset. One does not have to go far from their home to hear more of the same filth. It is not just the little kids, I worked in a shop environment for many years where I tried not to curse in the first seven hours because I felt it was ugly and also contagious like yawning.

Not only that, turns out someone might have been playing with Brady's balls!
