Certainly didn't hurt that the Clickjabberwocki horse was dragged (kicking and screaming) back to last and never let run. Not sure what that was all about, but it certainly left a clear shot for the winner to win.

With that said, the winner looked good and was probably going to win anyway, horse with a future and looks just like his mom, he's got the same way of going as she did.

All true. You had to be pretty close to the pace down the hill today. Add to that the lack of positional change in the race and it was over before it started. The #1 pulled up and the #10 who was a closer not to be heard from. The #3 and #4 held position and they finished 2nd and 3rd. However, the #8 showed much improved early speed and eagerness. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

General statement over at Southern Cal - you have horses that have position with the right set up and these horses just don't fire. Nothing, nadda. Especially on dirt. They just back up.
