To my knowledge, the super is the only 10 cent wager out there (there might be some others, but this bet is pretty much the main 10 cent bet available to horseplayers around the country). When you see a 10 cent payout, quite often, the payout is to the penny. So, if that's the case, why would the 2 dollar price first be rounded down breakage wise before the 10 cent payout is shown? Why not just post the 10 cent price to the penny? Why is there even a "2 dollar price" or a "1 dollar price" when the base of the bet is 10 cents?

If they just posted the 10 cent price, there wouldn't ever need to be breakage as 10 cent prices typically are to the penny.

A lot from a few is a lot as well as a little from many.

$.10 is not the base, it is the minimum bet. Once these were the same but no longer. Breakage is determined on the base. NYRA has these rules

$2.10 to 9.99 payoff, break to 10 cents; $10 to 49.99 payoff, break to 20 cents; $50 to 499.99 payoff, break to 50 cents; $500 and up, break to $1.00.

This is for a $2 base. This should answer your question.

Wow, a dollar breakage.

Thanks for the info. My main question was that why not just post the 10 cent price and if the price is 8.71, post 8.71. There's no need for breakage on a 10 cent bet.

It breaks to a dollar which means on average at $500 and above you lose $.50, .1% or less of total. Brutal. There is breakage on $8.71 btw, it is just to the penny.

Have him watch Office Space.

He definitely needs other pursuits in his life. I think that movie may be a little advanced for him though.

You mean the actor that looks like Kent Desormeaux who has the penny round off to his bank account but they mistakenly put in the wrong decimal and the guy gets like 382k? Yeah, sounds like the racing industry with all the money they steal on breakage.

Other pursuits don't get you the money at the windows. Did Michael Jordan or Serena Williams have "other pursuits"? No, all they did was shoot basketballs or hit tennis balls, they weren't hanging out on the corner in their neighborhood looking for "things to do".

Please, MJ was in a lot of casinos hanging out next to the boxmen. Tiger Woods was a much better golfer when he was looking for "who to do"

Other pursuits make life worth living and would save us all from idiotic comments like the stealing one you make above. You give them the money and you know the rules. How is that stealing? It is good to be a gangsta....

i think a fitting mcconaughey character for sru to model would be john anthony from two for the money.

working out could be his "other pursuit that makes life worth living."

he could wear alligator shoes and get $100 haircuts. a combination of ric flair and wiffleball whizz could be his "new image of a man."

he could drive a new mercedes (like he says all the trainers do) with "PA HOF" proudly stamped on his vanity plate. :)
