NYRA is 100 Million in debt, they need Franks money.

Frank's got no money either , Magna is in debt. They just make do by going into some 3rd rate investment house and sell more shares every couple of years to investors(suckers). When they run out of tracks to buy/remodel, renovate etc., its the end of the game.

"In the past couple of weeks, MEC has continued to float its merger plan, sources said. It has proposed taking over NYRA's debt, which could hover at about $100 million or more in payments to the Thoroughbred Capital Investment Fund and purse money to horsemen."


I recall the late Vet Scratch getting ridiculed for suggesting NYRA owes the horsemen millions and millions of dollars. Doesn't someone owe her an apology -- in absentia of course?
