Trainer Ellis sends out his impressive 2yo Colt in the 6th @ Santa Anita tomorrow.
The Sky Mesa Colt (a mere 60k Keenland Sep 2013 purchase) went off at 16-1 in his debut and looked "all the horse" at Los Alamitos earlier this month.
I'm not sure how John Oxley let this Sky Mesa dude fall through the cracks,but the Bloom Racing Stable is probably pretty happy about it right about now.
BRS probably turned down some healthy offers for Gomp after his opener....

Love Sky Mesa. He's had a terrific 2014 with 2-year-olds and has been able to get Grade 1 winners on every surface. And The Gomper's grand dam, Mom's Command, is a U.S. Hall of Famer and winner of the 1985 Filly Triple Crown. Lots to like.

For what its worth i would have made the 1 the favorite ML in there.

The Gomper gomped. I had the #3 to place. Very average card, once again, at SA. One more race and we'll call it a day.
