Actually, it's just over $18 Trillion, but, what's $2 Trillion among politicians. :D

It, more than likely, will be $20 Trillion, or more, when he leaves office.

There is a "sure fire" way to prevent this 20 Tril train wreck: Increase everyone's income tax rate by at least 20% and increase taxes on booze, cigs and gasoline. No one will ever notice. Well, at least 51% or so of the country won't.

Much easier sell is to make deep cuts into beloved entitlements, especially section 8, food stamps, welfare, and on and on. We do not have a revenue problem, spending is the problem.

We do have a spending problem, but it's Medicaid and Medicare. I would support reforming the food stamp and section 8 housing programs, too.

You can't do that, or even more people would be 'dancing in the streets'.

Housing will have another bubble, that will be the timing to dump section 8. Landlords will not be able to rent as high without it, and in the end it costs us all. Let them dance, this guy will be out in two years and everything can be reversed leaving his legacy in more doubt than it ever was. You might still have an ophone, but it won't call home.
