Now I know why Oaklawn has been my favorite track for many years. Charles Cella, the Owner, just announced free admission for the 2015 season.

When do they start? It's my favorite meet.

It was my favorite meet, but their signal will not be available to my adw this year unless a last minute miracle happens.

Now is a good time to also put in a low takeout early pick five. (14%)

Think Oaklawn was the only racino I can remember that actually charged for admission.

Honeymooned at Hot Springs, January, 1966, and not for the "healing waters." Lots of trips to Oaklawn with the bride. We're coming up to our 49th anniversary soon.

Awwww! Congratulations!!! We are celebrating 15 years on NYE.

Hot Springs is such a great town.

Regarding the signal to the ADW, does that mean that TVG won't be showing the races?

Same here. Sucks. I'm sure TVG will have the signal Shelby. The big guys play nice with each other.

And what CJ said. Of course they shouldn't be charging an entry fee, congrats on finally catching up with the rest of the racinos.

Proof right there that you DO know how to pickem! :)

The free admission is a great ploy to build attendance and create new fans. The organization/administration at Oaklawn is becoming very progressive minded on several fronts.

Oaklawn is one the best meets in the country.
It is a shame the meet on occasion gets bitten by winter weather.

The only thing wrong with oaklawn is only one race surface, most majors have two.

I'm guessing a good portion of their meet occurs too early in the year for turf racing.

Don't they know that's a loser's way of conducting a business model. Jeesh, just think, now the homeless and the walking dead will infiltrate and demolish the good and fine people wanting nothing more than to keep a certain aesthetic whilst they engage in such fine dining and gambling.

Midwest girl, Appy, we met in Kansas City. She owned a quarter horse, and I wanted to learn how to ride; the rest history.

The free admission is for live racing too. How many other tracks have free admission?

Oaklawn also offers a 10% bonus on winner's purse if winner runs without Lasix. This comes from the track, not purse account.

I know where I will run my horses the first 4 months of 2015!!

If you ask me, this the one of the best parts of Oaklawn!

All of them that are racinos have free admission to racing and have for as long as I remember. If there is an exception that charges admission, I'm sure somebody will let us know. I'm pretty sure I've been to most of them at one time or another.

Last time I went to Finger Lakes Racino, I got in free.
Cost me $300 to get out, though.
