The idea is to make a profit by going with the crowd when right And beating the crowd when they are wrong. That thinking allows for place or show bets if profitable.

You are right.But,you know something.I never knew of a method or a software that will pick the place horse. I guess we play to win and back up our win bet with a place bet. How can you make a profit betting on a $3.00 horse. You would have to hit 6 0r 7 out of ten to show a profit. That can be tough.
