I thought i was watching a harness racing qualifier....except, they try harder in those qualifiers. I don't know what the guy on the 3 was doing, he should have been coupled in the wagering with the winner, he seemed like his ride was specifically to help the front runner go as slow as possible.

That was terrible, seemed like 2 different races going on, there was no way the 12 should have been able to waltz around the entire field and get a cushy stalking trip, there should have been an aggressive push to maintain position, that was too easy for the overbet chalk to get that spot. Lots of grabbing and strangling and overrating, not sure why so many of them that looked decent on paper lost by 400 lengths. Just terrible.

How do you bet the Cigar Mile knowing that there is some very unaggressive riding so far in these big pursed races? Can you trust there will be a big battle up front to set up Bourbon Courage coming from the clouds?

Not sure how to approach this knowing they'll probably break single file in slow fractions.
