So what is your point here.....we should back down to terrorists to get cheaper oil?

The libs would not let us get cheap oil from Alaska, remember?

Why do you rightys always try to turn all threads to Bush's war?
This link has to do with oil prices, an economic issue. I will agree Bush's ill conceived and poorly planned invasion of Iraq does have a negative effect on oil prices but, that is not the reason for the posting of the link.

Gasoline always goes up this time of the year partly because the refineries switch to producing a lower sulphur gas for summer time use. This is needed to maintain air quality standards during hot weather. Demand also rises at this time of the year. There is also increased demand from the expanding economies of China and India which has put more competitive pressure on world oil prices.

The above was from a story in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram today.

My opinion is that the US still has the cheapest gas prices in the world by far and that while we are going to see increases we will get used to it. The way I see it the higher the price of gasoline the more pressure to develop anternative fuel sources.

schweitz, I agree with your note, however that still does nothing to lighten the load on the working person that has to pay an additonal amount each week for gas. As I said "more bad news for the consumer."

So maybe our elected clowns, er, senators -McCain and the other buffons, should be holding hearings on the price of gasoline instead of trying to find out who put the panties on the Iraqi?
Dirt-bags like Teddy "the fish" Kennedy have been in positions of power far longer than Bush has....what have the mealy-mouthed losers done to make the life of the working stiff better?

In order to take the burden of higher gas prices off the airline industry, and to avoid the risk of sky-rocketing air fares and damage to the economy, the preznit just released the following....

LJB, why should I post the negative news when I know you will always beat me to the punch? No sense in wasting my bandwidth and disk space.

I'm simply providing the counter balance in this exchange.
