Next January the sporting world will celebrate the 50th playing of the greatest sporting spectacle (IMO) in the USA. Somehow, calling this event SB L doesn't sound right nor does it look right. I'm thinking the NFL will create a snazzy logo and use the # 50 as opposed to the "L".

Anyone else have any thoughts on this ?

I am positive that you are correct.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_50

Instead of naming it Super Bowl L with Roman numerals like in previous Super Bowls, this game will be marketed with the Arabic numeral "50".[1][2] The game is scheduled to be played on February 7, 2016,[note 1] at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the home stadium of the San Francisco 49ers.[3] This will be the first Super Bowl held in the San Francisco Bay Area since Super Bowl XIX in January 1985.[4]

It's right about this unless you doubt the NFL is telling the truth on the issue

Rather than challenge wiki, google was his friend. The stories were in print about this earlier in the year.

"There can be only 1s (and 0s)"

I think we have a winner and a tag line.

Next year will be Super Bowl L1, where all the players have to use First Time Lasix.
