The horse (#1) was 3-1 on the ML and goes off @ 14-1? Did i miss something or was the morning line odds maker right and the public got it wrong?

a bit of both, the top number (BRIS) for the 1 was 2nd worst, however almost all the other horses either had a long layoff or turf figures. The best two dirt figs were the 1 and 4 and they filled out the exactor.

The race was a joke. It was an unpredictable handicapping puzzle where the winner was beaten for maiden 5k in her last dirt race at Finger Lakes. Somehow they managed to fill this race with a 20k price on it.

Good eye. (That's Aussie for "nice job")

when i saw the ml of 3-1 and looked at the pps, my first reaction was no way.
There were two horses with limited experience in a higher class and they looked like the most logical players and i think they ended up the betting favorites.

the ML odds makers job is to predict the closing odds, not probability of winning - so they missed this horse in this race
