how do people like drf, bris and etc get their numbers?

does each of them send a person to the track, subscribe to a service, get their info from the track?

The actual time figures are the same, right? I mean 72 seconds is 72 seconds.

it is how they figure the variances that causes the problems. there isn't a standard and no one is releasing proprietary info.

waiting on my first cup-o-joe.

I believe they all get the info from Equibase, but they all have their own track variant. The only variant that is not computer generated is the one that Beyer uses.

Pandy is correct. All commercial speed figure makers use the same basic calculation (raw speed figure + Daily Track Variant + Inter-Track Variant) to end up with a figure. The ITV (Inter-Track Variant) is the "key to the mint" that makes one figure maker's # differ from another.
