Under this tax code the federal government stands to make more money from the sale of marijuana than those legally selling it. And that could be enough to shut down many shops.

IMO - If MJ is to be legalized, I would prefer that the Feds run and profit from the whole show. Its one tax I could opt out of, and in this case I believe corruption would be rampant if this was left to the private sector. Not that there would be no corruption if Feds ran the program, but I do believe it would be less corrupt.
