That would motivate me to vote. Straight Republican. If the Repubs sent me one, I'd vote straight Democrat. If I got one for both, I would vote either Independent or all write in votes. I will NOT bow to intimidation. That's one of the reasons I left the Democrat party.

I believe I read that the letters were only sent to previously registered Democrats that did not vote in the last election. Just helpful little hint that they better get their shiite together.

What's next ?

I'll tell you what's next. You get a similar letter each election, you go to the polling place and find one candidate (of the approved party) for each office.

Stalin is chuckling from the grave.

A couple of "The Boys" from the local Democratic controled union will show up at their door and offer to assist them in performing their civic duty by escorting them to the polls.

That is not what those letters are about. The Democrats are trying to learn what motivates their voters to go to the polls. They are seeking answers, not threatening anyone.

That is not what those letters are about. The Democrats are trying to learn what motivates their voters to go to the polls. They are seeking answers, not threatening anyone.

That was not the opinion of some Democratic Party officials.

“I think that last line has a threatening tone to it,” said Jay Jacobs, chairman of the Nassau County Democratic Committee in Long Island, where some of the mailers were sent. “I don’t think that’s the way we go about it.”

All that anyone has to do is listen to a great President long before he became President to show all the bogus crap liberals espouse.

1964 from a great President.

The Democrats are trying to learn what motivates their voters to go to the polls. They are seeking answers, not threatening anyone.

NBC News in NYC already knows what motivates Democrats to go to the polls.

The letter relies on peer pressure and the possibility of surveillance to encourage turnout — a tactic that research shows is highly effective compared to more costly and time consuming get-out-the-vote efforts like phone calls and door knocking, according to Costas Panagopoulos, a political science professor at Fordham University.

The practice is becoming much more widespread, and similar letters have been reported this election year in Alaska, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Colorado and Iowa.

Panagopoulos noted that while they succeed with many voters, "these heavy handed social-pressure messages do generate considerable backlash."

"Shaming people to vote works," he said. "It's remarkably effective. ... It's not enough to ask people to be good citizens. What you have to tell them is that their actual behavior is being monitored."

New York Republican Party spokesman David Laska said the state's GOP has not adopted similar tactics and that the letters "are beyond the pale and inexcusable."

Wisconsin mail carrier probed after allegedly dumping GOP political mailers

An investigation has been launched into a Neenah, Wisconsin postal carrier who allegedly dumped into a recycling bin hundreds of political advertisement mailers from the campaign of Mike Rorhkaste, Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 55th Assembly District, Rorhkaste tells Wisconsin Reporter.

Operation Fast and Furious will make Watergate look minor in comparison should the GOP take control of the United States Senate. There are people willing to talk that will shed a whole new shadow to its ugly story.

I guess there was a greater fear of deportation in the message.
