I had read he wasn't sure of the new track surface at Palm Meadows and wanted to see how it played out.

Palm Meadows closed for a couple more weeks to resurface the track.

When Pletcher was suspended a few years ago, that was home to his best horses, where I assumed he could train without the watchful eyes of the stewards.
