For older country music fans, one of the two men who were each serving two life sentences for killing Grand Ole Opry and Hee Haw performer David Akeman (better known as "Stringbean") and his wife during a robbery at their home in 1973 has been granted parole after 41 years.

In some cases, but apparently not for the country music performers who contacted the parole board (as noted in the story) asking that Mr. Brown continue to be denied parole.

Is Stringbean still dead?
When the victims come back. we can talk about paroles - not until.

I remember that when it happened - it was big deal at the time.
