A group of us were there today and were talking to the connections of platitude before the race. Heard they cut the feed on twinspires pretty quickly without much explanation. I do know Pedroza (jockey of the 11) and Santana (jockey of the 13) both were shaken up but walked off the track. Unfortunately Juan Saez was taken by ambulance and waiting for lifeline to show up to transport him. The 11 and 8 I know of were put down, not sure about the 13. Really unfortunate incident.

Trainer Tim Glyshaw, who had a horse in the race, asked for prayers for Saez due to a serious injury.

Horrible spill, and never a good sign when they cancel remaining races when the track condition isn't horrible.

Hoping for good news, young man was off to a nice start in his career.

Just off phone w Julio Espinoza, agent for Juan Saez, who is w him at hosp. in Indy. Said hope is very slim for survival. What a tragedy.

also from Marty McGee

"Julio said doctors have revived Juan 3-4 times since he apparently died at track. Catastrophic injuries to brain, etc. No words for this"

Very sad to hear.....

So the other horse euthanized was just a breakdown not involved with the incident? And which horse was Juan on, the other one that fell and euthanized or the other one that actually survived the incident (for now)

Sad to read this... he was on Montezuma Express, and was euthanized as a result of the incident.

His horse clipped heels at the far turn...very tragic, only a teenager. His horse had to be put down.

I read this too as Ray Paulick reported Indiana Downs canceled Wednesday
due to Juan Saez' passing . No doubt we were all pulling for a miracle .
Heartbreaking

A reminder when we watch the races . the danger involved in the life of
a jockey , every working moment !
