1st race - toughie on hot day in HK. :10: looks good on paper, but totally washed out in the walking ring. Small each way flyer on the :9: dog.

Results - Race 1: :3: :9: :7: :14:

About 200 m out, I thought the :9: had a good shot, but couldn't keep up and outclose the winner. :7: looked great in the walking ring, and closed from off it like a train. Didn't notice until after the race that Xpressbet has the QP (omni) wager again. Since I'm often running 3rd, this is good for me. Even with the three payouts and breakage loss, there appears to be enough spread in the pool that payouts are decent.

Race 2: playing the tote and taking the :6: .

Race 2 results: :2: :3: :8: :5:

Looks like inside speed continues to be king. :6: had his chance with a decent trip and I think ran 5th, but couldn't close wider out.

Race 3: A couple of obvious tosses, but very competitive. :2: looks tough and is chalk, so we'll make a small investment on the :6: to win, with saver Qs with the :1: :2: :3: :5: :8: :10:

Argh. :6: parked wide, empty. Actually ended up playing small Qs and Omnis with the :10: dog cause he was such a bomb, and he almost hung on for the win. Made a little dough in the race.

Race 4: tough class 5. Small each way bet on the :6: who can be a part of it with a lucky trip from the 13 hole.

Race 4 results: :14: :5: :7: :2:

67-1 shot winner comes from off the pace, while my :6: gets an absolutely perfect trip and folds like a cheap suit. Horses making their second start since the break continue to do well.

Race 5: Start of the "six up" (pick 6). The announcers are all over him, but I'll play the :4: dog, with saver Qs with the :9: and :14:

Race 5 results: :13: :9: :2: :3:

Late surge of money on the winner, odds dropping from 17 down to 10. :4: was stalking inside, but had trouble getting past the dying pace setter, though he didn't look too full of run anyway. Finished 5th.

Race 6: Love the :1: at 5.7 to 1, which looks a bit light on the tote. Earlier this year I loved three horses in the meets between April and early July, and all ran out. Let's see if my luck changes.

Race 6 results: :9: :4: :12: :10:

And no, same bad luck. :1: gets caught up in speed duel and fades inside. 57-1 shot, 2nd time starter rocks and rolls and lights up the tote.

Race 7: Going with :9: who likes the distance the plastic, as this is an AWT mile race. Saver Qs with :1: :4: :6: :7: :11:

Race 7 results: :3: :4: :5: :9:

Chalk wins, 3 wide with no cover. Impressive. :9: six wide through the first turn, but fractions weren't too bad, so hangs on for 4th....

Race 8: turf sprint in the chute. Taking the :7: here, though the chalk :9: looks pretty tough too.

Race 8 results: :7: :6: :2: :1:

Finally, got a winner home at 6-1. Late money came down on him, and tried to get another win bet on him, but just got shut out. D'oh!

Race 9: 1 mile, turf, class 3 - taking the :8: dog at odds, as some of the chalkier horses don't look that awesome in the walking ring. Qs with :1: :2: :3: :4: :6: :7: :9: :10:

Race 9 results: :11: :9: :10: :6:

60-1 winner continues the string of bombs tonight. Oddly run race, with a slow pace in the middle, with my :8: dog getting shuffled with no room late inside. Argh.

Race 10: Get out race, and I'll take the :3: at 33-1, who's looking good on the track and has a bit of back class. Some saver Qs with him. Need some pace to shoot at.

Night of bombs end with chalky tri. Argh. Tough night, but like Arnold would say, "I'll be back...."
