At one time there was a handicapping website referenced in at least one previous thread on this forum (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14132&highlight=beat-the-races.com) with the URL http://www.beat-the-races.com (http://www.beattheraces.com), but the site is apparently now either non-existent, or else a "parked" domain that is not active (at least under that name)(depending on whether you type the web address with or without hyphens in the name).

I was doing an unrelated search the other day, and came on another site with the URL http://beattheraces.net, which is apparently active (or at least visible), and which mentions handicapping products for sale, but which contains no contact or ordering information. Does anyone know whether this second site is related to or a successor of the previous site, and is still active? Or does anyone have any names, addresses, phone numbers, or other contact information associated with it?

I appreciate any available information/feedback.

Slight clarification to the above:

There is an ordering link contained on the site, but (as far as I could tell) it leads to a dead end. I couldn't get past the screen that asks you to indicate the kind of device (iPhone, Android, tablet, PC or Apple) that you want the information sent to.

Its not beatthepublic.com? That is Joe Zambuto's handicapping software site and was referenced on PA in 2010.

No, I'm familiar with Joe. The site that I'm asking about is/was not connected to him in any way. (My main interest in the site that I'm asking about is related to the site's apparent pirating/non-attribution of text directly from both my website and my handicapping titles, and then not even spelling my name correctly as one of the well-known handicappers who have supposedly "endorsed" the site's efforts.)

The whois lookup for beat-the-races.com states that the domain name is available.

Using the Waybackmachine, I was able to pull an archived page from beattheraces.com or beat-the-races.com.

beattheraces.com (http://web.archive.org/web/20050526143722/http://www.beattheraces.com/)

Not all the links on the page work, but here's one you might like.

impact values (http://web.archive.org/web/20050404162442/http://www.beat-the-races.com/oddsline/default.asp)

Don't know if this site is related to the beattheraces.net.

Using the KyRacer wayback link and clicking on the Legal Notices\About Us, it's the same owner.

I don't see any PA search results for either of the two individuals listed as POC's for the site (Frank Salerno and John Schipani). Must have slipped under our radar. :)

A little further web surfing seems to indicate that those individuals (both apparently living in the Bay Area in California) are now in their 80's. Probably not worth pursuing further.

Both those "individuals" are aliases of Al Francesco, who has been mentioned elsewhere on this board in connection with both blackjack (where he was apparently a major player) and handicapping.

(Maybe I should be flattered that such a "legendary" figure thought enough of my handicapping/publicizing efforts to "borrow" from them! :D )

Al Francesco, aka Frank Fisano, Frank Schipani, Frank Salerno, etc., has been touted as one of the pioneers of team blackjack/21 play. What the guy actually did was take ideas from everybody else and modify them. When he was barred from playing blackjack by most of the casinos, he turned to horse racing, trying to black-box the game. It isn't surprising if he took ideas from Overlay. That was his move.

His BTR sites were active around 2004 to 2006, then were taken offline. I don't know how good the product/service was.
