The German government says it is going to crack down on volunteer patrols known as “Shariah police” recently seen walking outside nightclubs and a city train station asking passersby not to drink alcohol and gamble.

They ain't got nuthin on us.

In the United States there are places where the religious have actually passed laws against drinking and gambling.

I knew France would eventually lose its uniqueness and special culture to political correctness, idealism, multiculturalism etc... but I thought the Germans would eventually figure out that there's nothing wrong with being proud of what you already are and trying to preserve it.

You got that right.

Lots of countries have had quotas on total immigration to make sure everyone was assimilating and/or rules for who could enter at any given time, including the US.

What they should have done was implement rules that would clearly benefit Germany long term instead of going along with the idealism that could eventually cause conflict all over Europe. There are a lot of ideas that sound great in theory that don't work out so well in reality.
