Big scratch in the :7: Falling Sky. If Clearly Now and Palace stay on form this is a two horse race. The only horse I see who can take a big improvement is the :10: Lightly raced and getting better every race. Versatile and loves Saratoga being 3-3. Never been out of the money. He is my long shot to hit the board.

Tossing :1: :4: :5: and using :2: :3: :9: in the super behind the three aforementioned horses. This is my favorite race of the day to watch.

Rosario will put Zee Bros on the lead and play ball.
He needed his last and was beaten by a pretty nice runner.
On his best day this guy can win this, but he drifted out last time and I'm just not sure if he has lost interest all together...

20-1 is a fair price for a guy who will have position, but can he even think of holding off the big guys in here?...Clearly Now and Palace

IF I play, it is likely between the :1: Capo Bastone who owns a G1 win over the track and distance, or the :4: Zee Bros who is rounding into shape.

The only problem I have with the :4: is that last furlong. At six furlongs I think he could hold on for 3rd or 4th. But at 7 furlongs against these I think he folds. Who the hell is the trainer? Never heard of him.

Seth Benzel was based in NY until a few years ago when he just disappeared.
Turns out he was in Dubai.

Made a big splash when he began training (Frankel protege'?)...was one of those guys who didn't start many but had a high win % (like Motion or Tom Proctor).

EDIT: Benzel worked for Mott, not Frankel

I'm going to the :9: Weekend Hideaway.
He just blasted home setting race horse fractions{22/44.4/1:09/115:4} for his 3rd victory from 4 lifetime starts @ Saratoga.
Palace is Breeders Cup Sprint material, but I'm suspicious of him getting the 7th furlong.
Clearly Now looked great in his last, but he has a little knucklehead in him.....he's beat himself on more than one occasion.

Race is wide open.

I don't like Clearly Now (I think he should be 7-2, not 6-5)

I don't know who I like.

So, if you boxed 8-10, two AMAZING looking horses on paper, you finish last and 2nd to last with neither jock perservering at the end? What was that all about?

$5 EB :2: :6: :10: :8:

ONLY reason I added the 2 is I heard him being touted on HR Radio by someone they were interviewing. Sometimes better to be lucky than good. LOL

Running a fast race appears to be a strong negative for many older horses.

Why would you expect Clearly Now to run back to that figure? He's never run at Spa, bit of a layoff, never really came close to running that fig last time out. His best two races have been at the Bel 7f.

Didn't we just have this conversation a couple weeks ago when discussing variable change and Palace Malice?

Good horses son't have to take their track with them.
He had more than a couple of good figures to run back to that beat this mediocre bunch.

Robert,

What didn't you like about Clearly Now - it sounds like you graded this horse much lower than the public?
