Races run in foreign countries are run over a distance measured in the metric system. Examples are races run in Hong Kong and Brazil. See previous thread:

When the horse runs in the U.S.A. are the running distances reported in furlongs?
I've seen furlong distances reported in the PP for horses from Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Are these countries all using the metric system for distances? So, the distances we see in the PP are approximate furlong distances?
Is this one of the reasons why we never see fractional times of races run in foreign countries? If not, does anyone know why fractional times aren't reported?
