(non-winners of two races lifetime)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
ML Fave is a JBM (Just-Broke-Maiden) from 10 nights ago,
facing NO class droppers,& five runners off breaks of 58 to 338 days.
Lone "New Face" is a Hazel Park shipper. Three closers will need pace.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Ringing Reese (6/1 ML)- 4YO returns from dull Indy state-bred
effort. Won MSW here 7/7/13,but done little since. 74-day layoff,1 work.
2) Machida (6/1)- Hazel Park invader adds 330Y, wants lead, but
if field stays intact, likely won't get it. Faces weak bunch for level.
3) Safe Net (15/1)- 4YO took drop to this level last out, ignored
on tote, ran last. Layoff + rider change + one work = No Safe Net. Pass.
4) Weigelia's Victory (20/1)- Welcome Howard "Boom-Boom" Lanci,
longtime SuffolkDowns longshot journeyman. Victory unlikely here.
5) Community Property (4/1)- 4YO Just missed in last closing way
out wide in a July 29th 'Night School' finale i wrote about (i liked him)
http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115757
needs pace... but will he get enough?
6) Jeff and John (7/2)- 70-day layoff for 4YO closer, broke maiden
here Dec.27th on quirky oval at (extended)end of meet. Beyers say
contender, i consider J&J no more than a Tri/Super/SH5 filler.
7) Noontime Badge (6/1)- i disparaged Badge in My 7/29 analysis,
but he closed for 3rd in bunch finish. Did race melt down, or is
Moyers Magic improving 4YO? IMO, a little of both. ML underlay.
8) My Dollar (12/1)- My Dollar won't be on this 5YO with spotty
recent activity. 3 slow works since last fail to impress,& low % rider named.
9) Northern Jet (3/1 ML Fave)- JBM impressed vs.dismal foes last out,
but race two back leaves questions. Beaten by closer after having open
lead,& Fave in race, A.P.Steele(4th,result chart below),
http://www.twinspires.com/php/turfstats/report.php?brisid=3800841&race_date=2014-07-19&country=USA&race_number=1&track_id=MNR&day_evening=D&report=race-chart
came back w/dull try last night as fave again.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: What to do with ML Fave? Draws well, picks up Top Jock,
faces no droppers or pure speed foes. 3/1 a pipe dream if truly live,
expect more like 3/2 off odds. JBM's traditionally bad bet-back, favored
even more so, unless from a "Super-Trainer".
To beat Jet, someone needs to keep pace legit early.
Perhaps "Boom-Boom" pushes Weigelia,or #1-2 try to gun from get-go,
which would help Community Property, who figures to get first run on
tiring speed ahead of deep closers Noontime Badge & Jeff and John,
who i am really against here. (Disparagement Angle bettors can stop
reading now, single #6,& wait for my 'Mushability' to work it's magic).
I'm a Woolworth in my Pick-5, but will also play a Pick-4 singling #5.
Good Luck to ALL, & See You at Night School!

8th@Mountaineer: 5.5F Clm5000N2Y ~ purse $8,700 ~ 8/19/14
(Non-winners of two races in 6 months)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Pair of Entries from the family Cox will take much of the play vs.
2 horses dropping from open nickle claimers,1 cutting back 550Yds.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Sooner Humor (30/1 ML)- 6YO cuts back off layoff. Was private
purchase two back off a win, which is seldom a positive win angle.
4) Hezalotta Wanda (3/1)- Claimed off class drop & solid effort. Parker
picks up mount. Win four back @5.5F would suffice- will form remain?
5) J T Max (30/1)- 5YO goes 2-turns-2-one stepping up in class.
Won his only local try here,vs. N3L foes. Overmatched on Beyers.
1) Ramblin Mike (7/2,Part of Entry)- Closer half of entry should get
right pace setup, but hasn't regained 9YO Form.
6) Ronaldo (9/2)- 8YO disappointed first off claim, has good form this
year,& Ramgeet/Hoop tandem deadly but usually not overbet. Could.
2) Flip Flop (9/5 ML Fave, Part of Entry)- Likely Speed-of-Speed, but
much like Mike, hasn't reproduced 2013 form. Rate'Em Rivera rides again.
2B) On Tour (9/5, POE)- Stalker half of entry has early lick when asked
for it, but note ONLY ONE START in 2014. Entry tough, but vulnerable.
7) You're My Boy Blue (10/1)- Mark Patterson's favorite Blue Boy,
he's been unable to seal the deal but once this year. Loses Ramgeet.
1A) Cardiac Rehab (7/2, POE)- Speed/stalk half of entry goes T-2-D,
a strong angle for Craig Cox. Pilares named of both halves of entry.
8) Maan (10/1)- 5YO dusted easier in local debut going 5F, but
faces MUCH tougher speed foes here,& would have to move forward.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: If this were 2013, i'd say Bank on Cox entries to get you
though horizontal wagers. While both Craig & Loren are winning at 30%
clip (while running many entries), "Cox's Commandos" haven't been the
same 'sure thing' this year. Only JT MAX, Maan, & Sooner Humor seem
out gunned here.
I'll spit into the wind,& try to beat BOTH entries with horses capable of
coming from off the pace: #4-Hezalotta Wanda & #7-You're My Boy Blue.
Good luck to ALL, & See you at Night School!
